Artists Biography:
Fiona makes large-scale, contemporary, text based wall-pieces in neutral colours which are screen-printed by hand onto canvas or leather. These tactile pieces invite the viewer to not only look at the piece, but touch it as well. Fiona explains: "The methodology behind the work is a direct result of my own visual impairment which led me to explore the accessibility of printed text and the extent to which we take this for granted. All work is produced in my studio, where I am able to work when the light conditions are most suitable for my visual needs".
