Artists Biography: Lorraine's landscapes are inspired by her home surroundings and by her visits to Orkney and South West France. She tends to produce work in a series, exploring different themes & media.
Lorraine has work in collections in the UK and USA. In 2007 her painting ‘White Mill Bay’ (Orkney) was exhibited for the prestigious seascape exhibition at The Mall Galleries, London.
Lorraine has recently explored working in egg tempera and gold leaf which can be seen in her painting ‘I Heard the Angels Play.’ Egg tempera is one of the earliest painting medium techniques consisting of finely ground pigments, egg yolk and water. Although time consuming this technique gives brilliant colour and luminosity which can be used in both traditional and more contemporary work.
